A surprise visit to a quiet place

For various reasons The Green Door Store didn’t happen for us in May, luckily (very as it turned out in the end) Sara Jane found room for us and we had a magical evening At The Coach House, with

another green door

Hmm Blogspot, your new editor is confusing me, but I don’t care cos I’m coasting on the joy of another really good Spirit of Gravity show. Our first at The Green Door Store.

Embla Quickbeam was first on the floor, well just above the floor, in real life.

Andy Wheddon was first on his pins, and the first Karaoke machine.

Fallow were the first to get a skull and dual laptops going

And June Deer just did it barefoot…

October: where did you go?

Tony Rimbaud reminded me that The Sogblog is missing everything from the October show, there are good reasons for this. Two of them – 1) my recorder went bleurgh and so I have no audio of the night and 2) my video of the event is all very dark.

So here is some very dark video of Ashtray Navigations, Hakarl, Ultrahumanitarian and Noteherder & McCloud. For some reason Youtube only wanted me to display Clive and Gus’ version of Ryoanji last night, but it seems to be better now.

piecemeal/pellmell August

August finally turned out to be a hot one, in between switching the air conditioner on and off we saw some cracing sets.

Plurals had added violin, keyboards and saxaphone.

Nil started in the middle of the room but wound up on and near the stage.

White Tiger had some lovely crafted boxes.

Finn, Smith, Ziemianin turned out to be called “Tiger walking downhill”.

Another last minute skweeze: Dirty Eyes were Kev Kilter and Robin Slow Listener

With a feast of tapey noise and general fun:

I’m Dr Buoyant teamed up with Ron Caines for a number of Sax based loopy tunes.

Kaya King were replaced by Kayaka, exactly one half in magnitude, but sonically it was more than enough.

And Norfolks Transept rounded the evening off with their psychedelic sea shanties.

The video is all a bit dark this month, but top sounding, nonetheless.
